The After Effects CC 2015 (13.7) update is now available.įor details of the updates for all Adobe professional video and audio applications and services, see this page. Note - only higher end versions of Cinema4D will be shipped with Sketch and Toon (Studio of the top of my head).Īdd sketch and toon to your render effects list and from here you can go wild - the only thing I changed for the render above is to turn off 'Self Culling’ in the Objects dropdown as seen below. What’s new and changed in the After Effects CC 2015 (13.7) update This final option is my favorite to use as it gives most control over all aspects of the line I would want to control. The setup of the Proximal shader - note the same shader is applied to luminance in this case. Be aware that this only works with meshes - so press 'C’ to change your parametric object into a mesh if need be. You can create some amazing effects based upon proximity of objects to each other (in this case the proximity object is the same object the shader is applied to). This option I came across by pure accident after experimenting with the Proximal Shader. (I don’t recommend this option for anything other than if you wanted a vanity shot of your mesh in wireframe). Here you have some very basic options to change the colour of line and background with a few limited line options. The cel renderer is a render effect that you enable from the render options.

Very simple - but also very limited in the scope of options that you have at your disposal. This is probably the second option that I came across. Control for the vertex size and the lines between them are all given in the Atom Array tag. Really simple drop your shape or parametric object inside an Atom Array tag. This is the first option I came across when looking for this effect. Here are a few routes that I know of and use now and then in C4D.
C4D SKETCH AND TOON SKIN
As always there more than one way to skin a cat! Adam raised a new route of rendering that never even occurred to me.

(Rendering the wireframe view of an object.)įirstly, I came across Adam Plouff’s ‘Flattened Icosahedron’ here on Dribbble. Just a very quick and rough tutorial on a couple of ways to render lines in Cinema 4D.
